Candy Necklaces. It’s Not Just Fine Jewelry Anymore
September 17, 2012
When you think candy necklaces you probably think saliva sticky strands of sugar tangling in your child’s hair and rainbow-smeared stains around tee shirt collars.
But when I think candy necklaces I think a keen fashion sense, the perfect accompaniment to haute couture.
Notice how the muted colors of the candy necklace offset the dazzle of the diamond ring. It’s a beautiful thing.
And the perfect blue eyes for a little guy named Lightning McQueen
I just did a couple dozen McQueen cookie car party favors for my buddy Anthony.
But then I got to thinking, you only turn 4 once.
So I made a race track and a racing flag.
And then I made some tires, a few McQueen lightning bolts, and a couple
other shaped cookies you sort of need when you’re turning 4.
And then I went to the grocery store and happened to find a Lightning McQueen Pez Candy Dispenser that I took home and stepped on to break apart because the car was the perfect size for the cookie racing track.
At least Anthony thought it was, and he’s four so he should know.

My nephews enjoy Lighting McQueen too! The race track pieces are so fun. What cookie cutter did you use ? Your cookies have inspired me to be more creative. I made my first freehand Mario Cookies, while they aren't perfect, they did exceed my expectations. Decorating cookies keeps these old fingers from going numb from doing nothing. Happy Decorating !
