Ah, I see you’re back. I knew you would be. So it’s Friday morning, I’ve had my morning coffee and my shower and so just as I promised I’m back here to announce the winners of the Cute Critter Cookie Cutter Contest.
But first, we need to talk about this for a minute and by this, I mean you. In reading through the comments it seems that Rebecca and Karen live in a world of cotton candy clouds where pink unicorns skip through meadows of lollipop daisies since these two guessed that I had 9 complete sets. Nine. Okay, let’s review, and please, if necessary, pull out your calculators. I’ll wait. As I previously mentioned I had a total of 100 critter cutters, but 9 sets of 12 would equal 108. Rebecca. Karen. I love you for your optimism but I make cookies, not magic.
Oh, and before you judge Rebecca and Karen, let’s talk about you. And by you I mean, you Theresa. Only two? Really? Is that even possible given I had 100 with only 12 different shapes? No Theresa, you didn’t win a set of the critter cutters but I’m still going to need your address because I think someone needs a pair of rose-colored glasses STAT.
Okay, so now that I’ve abused, and potentially lost, three Sweet Hope Cookie followers let’s move on to why you’re all here today anyway. Certainly it’s not because I’m so charming.
And there you have it. I was able to assemble 6 complete sets of 12, 6 being the most popular guesstimate of the majority of my glass-half full but just barely readership. And here they are this morning just waiting for the winners to email me their addresses.
But wait! I suppose I actually need to announce who the winners, aren’t I? And no, the copper cutters are NOT part of the prize though knowing Rebecca and Karen as we now do, chances are they’re already sitting out at their mailbox waiting for them to magically appear.
There I did it again, teasing two lovely women who did nothing more than share their optimistic ways. Why can’t I be nice and sweet like Georganne over at LilaLoa?
Anyway, who won? The suspense is killing you, isn’t it? Oh, how I could ramble on and on but I have cookies to bake so on to it!
As you may know, when other bloggers have random prize drawings they typically use a random number generator to determine the winners, but not me. No. I’m all about the personal touch because I care. Because you are more than a number. You are special.
Am I making up for my earlier poor behavior? I’m trying. I really am.
So here’s my method for choosing the 6 winners from the 20 who guessed the correct number (in time) :
1. Write down the name of each commenter who guessed 6 on a separate piece of paper.
2. Place names in the bowl of a standing mixer.
3. Sprinkle in pixie dust because isn’t everything a little better with sparkle?
4. Mix at medium low speed until well blended.
5. Pull six glittery names from the bowl. Without looking. Not so much as a peek.
And the winners of a complete set of critter cookie cutters are Betty Jo, Melissa, Adi, Nate, Stephanie, and Sarah Rose.
Congratulations to the 6 who guessed 6!
Now the only thing that stands in the way of the prizes getting to the winners is the absence of a mailing address so Betty Jo, Melissa, Adi, Nate, Stephanie and Sarah Rose, send your full name and complete mailing address to sweethopecookies (a) gmail.com and before you can say, “Oh Yippee I won I won I won!” I’ll send them off to you.
Along with your set of cookie cutters I’ll enclose a red ALS awareness band and if you’d be willing, I’d ask that you wear the bracelet for just one week and if during that time anyone asks about it, tell them it’s an ALS awareness band and you’re wearing it because you have a friend (that would be me) whose handsome, loving, funny, and brilliant brother died from the disease. Tell them her brother’s was Randy.
And as long as we’re on the subject, I’d love for all of you who generously take the time to read my blog to take a few more minutes to visit Bo Stern: The Difference of a Day. Bo is a mom, a pastor, and an incredibly beautiful writer. And Bo’s husband Steve has ALS. Please show Bo the love by stopping by and prepare to be inspired by her words, her life, and her faith.
